Amel Ruthveni

Took a chance on a small group of non feeding ruthveni...all of them came around and are doing great, they since have become one of my favorite kings to work with. It's a shame they seem to always be in the shadow of the amel nelsons & hondurans.

Wow. Great colors. How did you get them to eat? Or did they just come around on thier own?

At first they accepted the pinks only after they had been in their boxes for 48 hours , this was discovered by the gentleman I purchased them from by accident, but it worked on all the babies, now they take rodents right out of your hand. The scent of fresh thawed or live pinks didn't seem to entice them at first...but now they are all on track. I have used this technique before with finicky crotalids and it works great with some animals...don't pull the food items too soon on slow feeders sometimes they have to "marinante" properly LOL
