funny scales (not under the neck)

pezpunk Feb 23, 2006 12:53 PM

I was wondering if anyone has noticed funny scales on their snakes. My dumeril has like vertical lines all along the body with scales that kind of stick out. Its hard to descrbie, they look like creases. just wondering if anyone knew anything about this

Well, what I'm picturing from your description sounds like "lines" from coiling up or whatever. I've seen quite a few BCI that do this, and they're generally a little overweight as well. Is your Dumerils pretty plump? Take care

My dumerils gets these too...

They're kind of folded over looking at the tips. Their scales
seem kind of soft compared to other boas and pythons.

He gets them right where he is coiled at, in vertical lines.
