I put a little lid of Nature Zone total cricket bite in all of my free range cages. It's nutritious cricket gutload and could also be eaten by the herps if so inclined. I just add a cube every day for any random crix that may have survived. Diane

I have always free-ranged my crickets in my chameleon cages. I think its good for the chameleon to have to move around somewhat to catch them. I dust the crickets before I let them lose. The dust will fall off but usually the chameleon eats most of the crickets in the first few minutes they are in the cage (I feed my chameleons every two or three days so that they are hungry enough to do this) so it doesn't matter if the odd one thats left has no powder on it. I provide gutload in the cages for the crickets that remain to eat....and if the chameleon eats some of it that's okay too. (My gutload in the cages consists of fruits, veggies and greens...nothing harmful to the chameleons.)
