best way to feed my leo

leosaint Feb 24, 2006 06:46 AM

i am not into breeding and morphs and things like that. i have 1 male norm and i am happy with just him :D but i have noticed that now he is nearly a year old when i put the crickets in he just lies there but when his light is off they are gone the next morning. when he was younger as soon as i opened up the tank he wouuld come right up to the lass to be fed is this a major problem.(i feed him 2-3 crickets a day)

Not a problem. Leos are nocturnal by nature, meaning they come out to play after dark . I think, when young, when they need the extra nutrition to be able to grow at a proper rate so they spend more time, day and night, in search of food. As adults the growth slows so they don't need as much, and will revert to their normal nocturnal ways. JMHO.

I agree it's not a problem. You might just start feeding him a little later? I feed my Leos around 7:30-8:00 at night. And I'd suggest leaving a piece of carrot in the tank for the crickets so they don't chew on your Leo in the event he doesn't eat them all
