Anyone keeping axolotls in FLA? Can it be done without too many problems?

tcdrover Feb 24, 2006 07:23 AM

I'm concerned about the water temps. Are you able to keep the
water cool enough, without using ice or anything special?

Also, would anyone know if Axolotls are compatible with African clawed frogs?

Thanks

I would be concerned with what you are, keeping the water temp from drastiacally fluctuatiing. I live in NJ for a number of years and still ended up buying a 500 dollar chiller for my axy tank. I got tired of putting ice in a bag......

axolotls aren't even compatible with each other. they react to movement nearby by snapping , Tanks of axolotls always havw limbs missing. luckily they can regenerate. not always perfectly.
