Iwan Hendrix has some nice ones he makes himself. He posted the instructions a while back. Do a search on this website and send him an email.

Cheers!

Hi,

here an illustration of my hidebox I use for my mamba's:

By making a sliding-system you can safely change the lid for other purposes like attaching a snakebag or whatever.

As you can see the shutter is locked by a pin!
An acrylic-glass lid is very handy when you need to check the animals.

I've made the hidebox from waterproof (multiplex) wood. But Iwan makes them from plastic. Maybe he can post some pics too!

Hope this is of any use.

Harold not only has fantastic tranfer boxes but a beautiful website featuring his excellent photography. A site like his sets the standard what we all should work towards. I would be remiss if I did not say his enclosures are a work of art, no wonder he has many flawless specimens.

Thanks for sharing Harold

Here's mine, I got the idea from another person here. It works great.

Does it work for any of the D. viridis or D. jameson's?

I'll try and post a picture later, but for my king cobras, I just use a wooden box with a trap door top, maybe half or less the length of the box, hinged with brass hinges and held up by a wire. When I want to keep him in the box, I just lower the wire and latch it together with a hook-type lock. It works great and is very easy to use, and the safest I have for the kings.

I was just going to post a message asking for suggestions on moving my D. jameson' and D. viridis using a shift box. This is an excellent post and a great idea. I was going to use a tube as a transfer to a secondary enclosure, but may opt for this idea instead.

Do they readily go into the chute, or do you have to coax them in?

they usually go into the box, I talk about rattlesnakes.
