mister

I am thinking about getting a mister for my cham cage. Can anyone recommend a good one? Also, how often do you have to fill them?

How often you fill them depends entirely on how often you run it, and how large your reservoir is.

If you mean something that sprays water, there are several options. If you mean something that creates fog, an ultrasonic humidifier (room type) is a great option.

For water spraying many keepers make up their own using those mister systems that cool off porches. I have a RainMaker Jr. that runs off a 5 gal bucket. If your cage is small and you are spraying only one this unit will be more than enough. How often you fill the reservoir depends on how large an area you are misting, how often you cycle it, and how long it mists each cycle. A RainMaker will really douse a single cage on one short cycle of a couple of minutes. But, chams often need it to rain for a few minutes before they are stimulated to drink. A short intense blast of water is not as effective as a longer lower intensity spritzing.
