Question about breeders ETB (Captive Bred)

Rottenweiler9 Feb 24, 2006 06:33 PM

Can you please e-mail me who you received your ETB's from. I received that list but I was wondering if someone had good experice or bad with a certain breeder. I am looking to get one soon.

Thank you

Jeff

Rule one:
If you can't get them on the phone, or they dont want you to pickup the animal in person, than forget it!

Rule two:
let the persons reputation do the talking not their mouth.

Rule three: If it sounds to good to be true that it is, Move on.

Live by these rules and you can't go wrong. Here is a list of the people I do and will buy off of, notice it is very very short!

1. Joe Polanco www.emeraldtreeboa.org (One of the best)
2. Tony Nicoli www.boas.net (Well he is the king of emeralds)
3. Craig and Karen Clark gemsoftherainforest.com (Really good people)
4. Matt Lerer www.freewebs.com/ghireptile/index.htm (Great guy, mostly in breeding high end stuff, but can get almost anything you want, fast.)
5. Noahs boas www.noahsboas.com (All f2 stuff impressive, and a nice guy)
6. Rico Walder www.signalherp.com (Nice High white animals spring from here)
7. Ed Marino No website but contact me for info(One of the big breeders for sure)
7. Me www.emeraldboas.com

As for everyone on this list they have a "NO SCREWING" policy that applies to customers, and have been arround for some time.

best of luck

We've bought from Tony, Matt, Ed, and Reco and have been very happy with the animals we have gotten from them, but anybody on Joe's list is a good bet just like he said.

Rolando Burgos of www.amazonbasinboas.com is another very good guy too. Looks like he has some unreal projects that will drop this year, some ultra high end stuff. Depending on your price range he is another very good source who is as honest as they come and also has a "No Screw" policy. Good luck!

Forgot about Rolo, he's a good guy too.

I went to all these websites to check out them, all of them are very impressive. One question I have is I did not see what they sell a normal baby for. Northern or the other one. How much would a normal baby go for and would any one of those have one sitting waiting to be shipped.

Thanks again

Jeff,

You can expect to pay between $400-500 for a "normal" CBB Northern. The price pretty much goes up from there depending on what the animal looks like and the Amazon Basins will definitely cost more. From the list of breeders, I know that Rico and Ed Marino have some exception High White babies available at this time. I believe the Clarks still have one Male left from an earlier batch. I would highly recommend a CBB animal...save yourself the trouble and heartache! Good luck!

You can't go wrong with that list that was provided by JoeB. He knows most of those breeders on a phone number basis, and would not steer you wrong. I have talked to many of those on that list and they have been VERY helpful in getting me going in the right direction on keeping Emeralds. Just FOR SURE get a captive animal, not just anything you see cheap on kingsnake. Emeralds are not difficult, they just require a specific everything, and you cannot slack in any of their need areas. If you start with a good quality animal you will be hooked. These snakes are more graceful and elegent than anything out there. They are patient, which helps me relax in my fast paced life. Just my few cents worth.
