Beautiful animal! Two questions...

How do you get them to grow to 5 feet in only 2 years?

A more general question regarding leucistic snakes - how do you know what species they are? I assume you have a geneological record of the individual, but more generally, is there a way to identify the species just by looking at it? I always wondered about this.
