F1 first generation from wild, F2 second generation from wild and so on...
for example, a WC pair of kings....breed them....offspring are F1s
Breed those babies.....thier offspring F2
There are of course much more detailed ways of explaining this with better terminology and more descriptive examples but this is the "jist" so to speak

If I were to post pics of a snake and say, "This is so-and-so, my F1 generation such-and such."

I would mean that it is of the first Filial generation. Filial meaning a "son or daughter of". So in terms of captive bred offspring it generally means the first generation of offspring produced from the wild collected stock, or parents.

F1 means first generation...
F2 means second generation, and so on.

Does that help.

Originaly the F-1, F-2, F-3, etc. system was used for W.C. generated generations but now it is used for various C.B. projects by many herpetolculturists.
