room mates?

What type of tortoise could be housed with a yearling sulcata? With captive raised stock are parasites still a big concern as far as mixed species goes? This is just a passing thought, not something I'm likely to do but since someone asked me the other day I thought I'd pass those questions along. thanks.

I personally don't like to mix species at all. Yes with captive raised parasites can still be an issue. They should be tested at least once a year IMO.
You never know what other diseases may pass back & forth either, you never know what species may decide to become aggressive & attack the other.
I know that some people do house sulcata & leopard together because they do both come from Africa, their natural ranges are near one another & in some areas might overlap a little plus they share the same dietary needs.
Eventually the sulcatas grow larger & a smaller turtle or tortoise is always in danger in the presence of a larger one who might become territorial & attack the smaller one.
I wouldn't do it at all but some people say that it works out for them to have sulcata & leopard together.
