Update , Mystic project , comparison pics

anthony james mc Feb 25, 2006 02:09 PM

As the Mystic male is growing up he looks alot less like a Mojave and alot more like a Phantom to me, check it out and see for yourself.. Comments welcome! He is hard to photograph but in person there is no doubt he is going to do some crazy things down the road... The comparison pics are of the 2005 Mystic male and 2005 Mojave females, they look pretty different to me but see what you think..

Good luck on the project Anthony. It does look like a dark Mojave, or what Ralph calls Phantoms. Did you already reproduce them, or is that what you are going to do?

The baby Mystic was produced here from breeding a "Mojave " looking imported male to a Poss Het albino female.. The result proved to be codom with 1 Mystic in a 6 egg clutch.. The original male Mystic is breeding as we speak and with any luck I should have more Mystic babies this summer.. I call them Mystics as I did not buy the founding male from RDR so I can't rightfully call them phantoms , even once my Super is produced that will likely be very similiar if not the same as a Super Phantom I will still call mine Mystics to keep the lines seperate, much like how RDR calls his Yellow Bellies, Goblins. Here is a pic of the founding male , he is not a Mojave, once I have several 06 Mystics to look at it will be obvious that they are indeed different.. Soon the Mystic line will be crossed with the Mojave line, in my opinion it will produce something similiar to the crystal Ball and not a white snake, I may be wrong but we shall see either way. OK, understand now. As for the naming, I named my Fire looking Balls Embers, because they look like Fires, and Ember Ball kind of keeps with the Fire theme. If I do produce a white snake with black eyes from the Embers, I will probably keep the name Ember but call them Ember Fires, or something like that so it does not get confusing, and at the same time, differentiates my line from other lines. My thinking, there are several lines of Ghosts, all called Ghost, several lines of Albinos, all called Albinos...I did not even know that Ralph calls his Yellow Bellies Goblins.
