megalon Feb 25, 2006 06:00 PM

i know this isn't the hybrid forum, but that forum hasn't yeilded ant help for me,so i thought i would try here.i was wondering if anyone had tried breeding a coastal carpet to a gtp,or if people only tried jungles.i have a 3 yr ,4 1/2' tri-stripe coastal male who has been breeding my reg coastal like crazy, and there's a show coming up in a couple weeks where i live.if i was going to try,it would be now.should i look for any particular locale,or just any large female?i'm not too woried about "ugly" babies,bc all morelias are gorgeous,as far as i'm concerned.any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,chris

Mostly it's been jungles, but I'm sure any of the carpets would work, including IJ or Diamonds. It's not easy to get Carpondros, anyway. I'd still like to see if they've been bred back to parents, as I stand by my theory that they cannot produce fertile young when breeding themselves.

well,i guess there's only one way to find out.i've always wanted to try carpondros, and it's definately cheaper to try to produce them yourself than to spend 2k one one.besides, whats the worst that will happen, they don't breed, and i have a beautiful gtp?worse things have happened!

True. Personally, I'd like to see them bred back to one parent...or better yet, an unrelated animal, just to see what would happen.
