Captive Bred and Born Super Dwarf Retics

jnemani Feb 25, 2006 07:49 PM

They are now a year old and still look so small but the colors look great. They are hitting around the 700 gram mark. They feed on weaned/small rats 2 to 3 times a week and have the same appetite and feeding response of the big guns. Enjoy!

I have 2.4

I actually picked up 4.6 but a local friend of mine took 2.2.

They are fun! Here is a pick of when I got them in. That is the 6 females in a 15 qt sterilite to put things in perspective and they were about 6 months old at the time.

given your experience with these snakes...

and the growth you have witnessed on a rather heavy feeding schedule...

what would you guess the size these snakes are Capable of getting as FULL grown adults?

btw - just curious, who did you get those from - and is the guy still in business?

thanks.

Considering they hatch out at 30 grams I would say they will never mature to a full size animal. Since you are an expert on big retics what do normal retic hatchlings weigh when they hatch?

David Bellis has actually done some good work in documenting the growth rates of sibs to those in the pics above on Mike Wilbanks forums. Maybe you should check it out and you might learn something.
