Honduran litter this morning...

afflicted Jul 27, 2003 12:49 PM

Parents were handpicked as being the best pair from the Dyer's '99 litter. It is funny how they were the same size as these babies when I brought them home and now they have produced a litter for me. The final count seems to be 13 healthy babies, one premature still-born(with yolk visible) and one slug. There is one obvious stand-out shown in the next post. Mom was extremely upset and tasted my blood during removal, LOL. Regardless, she did a great job for a first time mommy.

Nice reverse-striped tail and missing a few saddles down the neck. I saw quite a few of the Dyer's babies over the years and I didn't ever remember seeing any with a tail that looked like this. Regardless, healthy babies are alwasy rewarding.

Sounds like you're having another good year.

Congrats on your clutch, was thinking it was about due. You think we show you everything LOL I had one baby similar to yours, on the 12th my girl had 35 live with no slugs, most have shed now. This clutch was born at 114 days and there was`nt a sack on any of them. They were ready.

Well, I do know you have some type of aberrant mojo running through your collection so I definitely don't doubt it. I miscounted as the litter was 14 total viable, one slug and the one preemy/stillborn. The preemy had the yolk sack but all the others were perfectly good and ready to come out. There are a couple with the lump of a freshly absorbed yolk but regardless, they all arrived with perfect timing. I hope you are having a good year. Talked to Todd the other day and it sounds like you have some cool stuff brewing.
