Automated Mister System and Blue phase Whites.??

viper69 Feb 26, 2006 01:33 AM

What are people using for automated misting system's these days..what companies are making good systems?

Are there any breeders of White's...esp the blue phase whites?

Are there any breeders of White's that have a high degree of white/yellow spotting?

I don't know about the mister system, or about the spotted white's, but I do know a little something about blue phase white's. YOu have to know a little history about the WTF in order to really understand it. Back when White found the frog in Australia for the first time, he brought back specimens to England, placing them in a jar filled with a preserving liquid. When they returned to England and opened the jars, they found that the frogs were blue, therefore they all thought that the WTF was blue. The truth of the matter is that the WTF ranges in colors from brown to a blue-green, and they can change from one to the other from morning to night.

Now, if you want a bluish WTF, then I suggest you do a little research on humidity levels and on heat levels. I can't remember which does what to the frog, but they seem to change colors according to those two factors. I have seen my frogs turn that beautiful bluish color, then by night, or morning, they were a different color.

I'm just more concerned that if you buy a frog that is in a blue phase, you might be disapointed afterwards when it turns a different color because the heat and humidity is different.

Well, there is my piece for the day ^^

In one of my books on white's, I believe. SOme of the books come with a bit of history on the frogs, which is always good to know.

But I did make a slight mistake, its not the heat, but the lighting that will affect them ^^
