mean balls

lrptls Jul 27, 2003 12:54 PM

i use to have a ball python, i got rid of her after owning her almost a year, she was still a baby, was almost 2 feet, but i got rid of her for her agression, she was a very striky, biting snake, and this shockd me, becuase i had heard of how tame they are, but mine would strike at any thing that moved, she was very nervous, when she wasn't in a ball she was striking at what moved or biting my hand. after i gave her an experienced herp owner, i started hearing more stories of how they are really like that, strikey and biting. i really want another ball but i want one that is nice, how can i tame one?

First of all. Was your yearling "wild caught" or was it CB? And if you plan on getting another ball and want it to be tame I would recomend finding a nice CB baby and raising it.
