I would try putting a plank of wood on top. That will work good. It should be thick so the cham cant push it up though. Get a BIG piece of wood because it is good to have shade around the enclosure because it makes it cooler over all( Which im sure your cham will need since you are located in Puerto Rico!)

Good luck with that! I used it for my panther chameleons because i am located in HOT San Diego. VERY bright and sunny, which panthers enjoy, just about 15 degrees too hot! This works only for the begging and of summer because in the middle of summer it is just too hot to find an effective way to cool it down!

you could try Remay cloth. it is a woven floating row cover used for crops. it is whote so will reflect rather than absorb the sun/heat and will let UVB and water thru. it dries very quickly so will not bog down. I use remay sleeves for rearing all my wild silk moths outside in summer. You can buy it by the roll. With wond, rain, etc. you would prbably have to replace it once a year or so. Here is a link. It may called something else in PR but this should get you started. Btw, nice cage

this is about the company

this one is a retailer. Not sure if they'll ship to PR but I am sure you could find somone who does or even a source locally.
