White membrane? Can you explain this a little better?

slicer29 Feb 28, 2006 11:53 PM

you can only see it when hes in the water, the water is clean and clear, just changed the filter and i change the water every few days.the white membrane looks like some one hocked a lugey after drinking milk.(sorry about that i cant think of any other way to desribe it)but its just on his skin not shell and its not on his head or in his eyes thats about it any thing will help

Check for closely to see if it is excessive shedding of the
skin. I would suggest a vet visit to a qualified vet.

You should not be able to see excessive skin shed. This is
usually an indication of overfeeding particularly with
foods containing Vit A. At one time, I gave my turtles a
treat food each day made by Reptomin. I had this same problem
and after reading the contents realized it was somewhat high
in Vit A and after cutting it out altogether I haven't had
this problem. I do give them this treat now but not very often.
I would cut back on the amount of food if he is growing too
quickly.

Good luck
