True Axanthic $$$

tribalretics Feb 26, 2006 09:48 PM

How much would people pay for a TRUE axanthic retic? Or even a het for a axanthic? I know one doesn't exist yet. Unless you count the so called axanthic that N.E.R.D has, you know the one with the YELLOW spots on it. I have nothing against Kevin or N.E.R.D and it is a cool snake but it isn't axanthic.

axanthic means lacking yellow pigment... not totally absent of yellow pigment. i may be mistaken though.

also, i beleive once NERD proves out there "Axanthic/HYPERmelanistic" bloodline they will be worth bookoo$$

Isn't Hypermelanistic and Axanthic two different things? Hypermelanistic meaning more melanophores responsible for more black or brown pigment. Axanthic meaning a lack of xanthophores responsible for red and yellow pigment. What I am talking about is a normal patterned retic with no yellow pigment. You don't see axanthic balls with a different pattern and so much black. They have the same pattern just with no yellow. I do agree that Kevins retics will be worth bookoo $$$$. But I don't believe they are true axanthic retics.

YES, i saw those pics too. homeboy builds all kinds of hype and then wont answer anybody's question's about what the story on those are, like what do the parents look like.

maybe they are very dark normal jamps? notice how the eyes of those dwarf snakes are completely orange, compared to anthrax - which are almost completely darkend?

guess we will have to wait and see.

maybe the gene is expressed differently in retics?

we'll have to see when it proves out... fingers crossed!
