Do Pacman frogs sleep???

freakytah Feb 27, 2006 12:17 AM

Hey, I always wondered if these guys slept when they weren't hibernating, burried under the ground. I only ask becasue anytime I can find him, his eyes are open, and other than blinking, he never closes them. Are they just always on the hunt for food or do they just not get sleepy?? Just kinda curius thanks for any guesses!

I don't think that they sleep in the traditional sense that we're used to. I'm sure that they go through a "dormant" stage each night, but I think that they're always aware of their surroundings since they're not at the top of the food chain.

My horned frog does the same thing. She just sits there unblinking, night and day.
