on the hatching,i don't think these little critters could've been hatched into a better home!Well done, you know i've been surfing around the web looking at various sites on these guy's and it would seem they're really underappreciated as ickle pets yah know>Leos are nice but nocturnal while these guys are diurnal and totally loopy in terms of their activity levels! How is it that no-one realises there potential?Yeah i know there not beginner lizards but surely there are more experienced keepers than just those who post here.I don't think i know of a another lizard who is friendly, super colourful and out during the day,in fact i can think of one lizard what falls into the beauty stakes but aint to friendly and thats the kimberely rock monitor (which i'm hunting high and low to get my hands on!)
any-way,good going eve
see yah

they will gewt much more popular. Your right they have everything, they are friendly, fun to watch, funny little personalities, Absolutely unlimited color combinations, and just a beautiful lizard ! LOL There we just gave a heck of push for the collared lizard !!!!! Eve

I don't really avoid being bitten, but these guys have just never tried. Even when I just Noosed one of them, he still didn't try to bite.

To me that sounds unusual for a lizard. I attribute it to captive breeding, am I right?

Congrats on the babies. I hope they all bite LOL. Just kidding. My hatchlings would display with their mouths open right from the start (some that is).

Have you sexed them yet?

...of the field herpers who photograph wild collareds seem to feel its necessary to include a shot of at least one bleeding finger with a lizard clamped to it LOL. Brutus and Haggis will both gape like hell if you startle them, and I never force the issue, I believe them. One of my little Leo hatchlings worked my thumb over all the way from the incubator to the nursery once LOL. Cute!

of the egg...ready to bite. As a matter of fact, when I have multiple hatchlings coming out at the same time, some will bite on to others that get too close. They sometimes will attack and bite at anything that moves.

I don't think I've ever caught a wild collared that did not try to bite. Kong is the only one that really made me feel a concern for my fingers. I caught him by hand, and he was not too happy about it.

My finger up nicely But ever since he has not even tried. Squash either. Squash used to get pissed at John just for taking a pic, looked real mean at him. After he got here, he had a sweet , peaceful look !!! LOL John yanks their tails, or something ! Eve
