There are some that suck and there are cheap one that work very well and last very long. Big Apple Herp has one for $32 that we've used and it is very good....LLLreptile sells a very similar one for $26 as I recall.

Key is does it shut off in an overheat or over power situation. What wattage can it handle, and how accurately does it keep you temp. For housing a degree of accuracy is plenty...a better thermostat is needed for incubation. Yes you can pay $300 for a thermostat or ig Apple Herp has one at like $130 that is very good with a night drop and all, but you don't have to.

I also have a Rancho, works great. No fancy settings for night drops and such, but does the trick.

I recently did some research looking for thermostats for my incubator and my racks and decided on the rancos as well. I came across this which helped me make up my mind.

I ordered mine from MG reptiles while they are on sale.

Add me to the list of people who bought a thermostat from MGReptiles. Mine is a Johnson Controls, but Matt does a good job with the thermostats.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

so you took the great info from the Boaphile, who has spent years researching the product that works best, sharing the info with the public, and then you went and spent your money with another guy to save a buck.

interesting.

you didn't think Jeff deserved your business?
