I am about to buy a large 40-50 gallon size heat pad for my dresser converted enclosure. I want to get a radiant heat panel, but for the time being until i can order one, i am just going to hook a thermostat up to a heat pad and put it underneath the linoleum i have in the enclosure. My question is what's the best one i can find at like Petco or something similar? I want one that'll last, won't burn itself up, and is cohesive with a ZooMed thermostat 500R. The enclosure i'm heating is about 52 inches long, 2 feet deep, and 2 feet tall. I need the ambient temps to be between 80-85 with a basking spot of 90-95. Any ideas/advice? I know a radiant heat panel would be best, and i plan on getting one, i just would like something for now until i can get one ordered and shipped to me.
