Lizard Maker

Jmolden87 Jul 27, 2003 02:20 PM

Has anyone had any success using this new product called Lizard Maker? I have one Western hognose that doesn’t eat like he should and I was thinking about trying this product. I guess it’s just lizard scent in a bottle and you put a couple drops on a mouse. It would make things less frustrating for me if this product works. It seems to me that it wouldn’t hurt to try but I wanted to see if anyone here has tried it or anyones opinion. They should make toad scent in a bottle. Yes, I know I can make my own toad juice, but then what are the snakes in my yard gonna eat? Thanks for any advice.

Worth its weight in gold! I have used this several times on several different species and it works great. Everyone should have a bottle of it. Believe it or not, the mouse maker stuff works really good too. Hope it helps,
Kevin

personally I've had no success with the stuff. I tried it when my kingsnake decided to fast (lizards are their staple) and it didn't touch it. I tried it on my fasting western and eastern hogs and they turned their noses up at it.

Recently my 01 male western started fasting. I spoke to a lady at the San Diego show who told me to heat it up. I did just that, put a heat lamp on him and he ate. Has worked 2 weeks in a row. He tends to stay on the opposite side from the heat matt so the ambient heat of the lamp really warmed him up.

I'll order the stuff this week and let you guys know how it works for me. I'll also try to put a heat lamp on top a separate container when I feed him. Thanks for the advice.

i know this is a little late, but just thought i'd give my opinion. i have a couple wild-caught Mole Kings and i tried this product on one of them. this was after i tried just unscented pinkies and had no luck. i found out the snakes are attracted to five-lined skinks, so i got a bottle. one drop and it worked perfectly! the snake ate right away. good luck with yours!
