Milk Snake Egg Incubation PLEASE ANSWER!!

Cito Jul 27, 2003 02:59 PM

The following is the set up for my 2 day old eastern milk snake eggs. Please inform me if it will work or if there is anything i should change.

I have a 100 watt heat lamp on the top of a 10 gallon cage, and a small heat pad below it. They are both hooked up to a thermostat which should keep the temperature at about 82 degrees. Inside the 10 gallon tank i have two bread baking pans, one metal, one glass. I have about an inch of moss in each pan. In the glass pan i have 3 eggs that were laid seperatley, and in the metal pan i have a clump of 6 eggs, i tried unsuccesfully to seperate them, but didnt want to risk injuring them. And finally, on top of both of the pans is a tin foil covering. I mist the cage daily, will they be ok?

What about using a hovobator? I use one for all lizard eggs, but have never tried this for snake eggs. Does anyone out there currently use one to incubate their snake eggs?
