TobyEKing Feb 28, 2006 07:13 AM

I just last week had a king snake gave to me, When I got it, it seemed to be a little on the thin side and heavy in the blue. As time has past the shed has started to break loose in several spots. last night when I was looking closer at it in the spots where the shed was breaking loose it looked Almost like puss was just beneath the shed skin. I soaked it for about 15 minutes and the shed started coming off. And it was some kind of puss under the shed. After it had shed completely I looked again closer and in several places where I had seen the puss like ooze the skin between the scales seemed to be very red almost to the point of being inflamed. I have never seen anything like this and needed some thoughts on it. It hasnt affected it as it ate the rats last night. But would like yalls thoughts on it.........

sounds like blister disease,, ive seen this in several w/c kings best advise is keep it warm and have plenty of hides,(as less stress as possible),since its eating keep feeding every 4-5days and it will probably shake it(blisters),in my experience some can shake it and will rapid shed cycle themselves to help this process along others however sometimes need a trip to the vet for antibiotics as it is a skin infection ,good luck and keep us posted,,,,,,,,,thomas
