Attempting to breed my Ball Pythons...

MarshallPrime Feb 28, 2006 08:28 AM

I have separated my two Pythons for about 2 months. I have really tried to increase the temp in each cage during the day and decrease at night in each. I have not few either of them for about a month and a half. I am plannnig to "reunite" them this week. How long should i leave them together before i separate them again? They have been housed together for close to 5 years and never mated to i thought i would try separating them then putting them back together. How often should i put them together until i know she is pregnant for sure? once a week for like 2 days each or not that often?

if there is anything else i should try, please let me know
thanks

Are you sure you have 1 male and 1 famale?

As far as i know they are, when we bought them at 2 different reptile shows they probed them and told us what they were. We really dont have any knowledge on the topic of sexing them. We trusted they were right. The sizes of the two is quite different. The females are larger so i assumed we have one of each.

You have to be certain they are 1.1.

Also, what are their weights?

You would want the female to be (well)over 1000grams, most here say not to breed her till she is 1500grams+ .
