When to feed more?

hotridexx Jul 27, 2003 04:05 PM

Hi,

I just got my female ball python a week and a half ago, and I am wondering when or how will I know when to feed it more. The current owner (a professional breader) has fed the snake once every 5-7 days on live large adult mice. I have succesfully changed to frozen/thawed large adult mice on the same feeding schedule. But how will I know that it is time to feed the snake more? And how much more do I feed it?

Thanks everyone,
Geoffrey.

P.S. Here is my girl!

i really don't think there's any set schedule as to offering your snake more food, but i can offer my personal experiences. Personally i will offer more food after a shed (snakes bigger than before) or maybe after a month solid of the same diet, up it just a little, i'd say experiment with it and see what works for you there really isnt any "right" way of doing things
