katiejgirl Jul 27, 2003 04:43 PM

Hello everyone!!! I was just wondering if anyone knew of a breeder where I could get 2 common musks for cheap. I am only looking to spend $30 including shipping. Is that possible? Oh, yah, and I wanna get them as hatchlings :-D. PLMK, thanks! -KatieJGirl@aol.com

Shipping usually IS, or should be $30. If it's less, they might be sending it a less reliable way.

Im ordering a hatchling common musk, they just hatched a week or so ago, but the turtle is 10 and overnight shipping is 20. So thats 30. I found it in teh classifieds on kingsnake... i forget the website but the number is... 914-843-5331... goodluck!

I just ordered a hatchling Musk from the same guy last week and I was wondering if he was really slow answering your e-mails if thats the way you contact him? He recieved my money last week, but he only e-mails me like every 3-4 days so I have no idea whether hes sent out the Turtle yet or not. Just curious if you had the same problem?

He never answered mail, but you can ALWAYS get him on the phone. Ive called him a few times, and if he didnt answer then he always called me about half an hour later, without me leaving a emssage, caller id i guess. He told me today though that the turtles havent hatched yet, and this has been 2 weeks since i ordered, so i cancelled my order. I then emailed turtle town, and they told me they will be getting common musk hatchlings in late this week, or early next week. So im gonna wait till they get theirs in and order one from them. Im so upset though, ive had my turtles tank set up for about 3 weeks now, filter running, lights on, plecos sucking up non existant algae... im getting so impatient. But it just gives me more time to improve the aquarium, ive been adding more rocks and plants every day.

Oh one more thing, the shipping is 30 dollars, and the turtle is 10, so it costs 40 dollars from turtle town instead of 30 from the other place.

I'd cancel my order and look elsewhere, but he already has my money and I sent a Money order, so he cant really just send it back without it taking like another week to get back to me. After I ordered the Turtle, I was looking around for pics of Musk Turtles and found that the picture he used for the baby Musk's was from an informational site, which I doubt was something he had created. I'll e-mail him once more and ask him about it, then I'll try calling and if I dont get any more info on the Turtle, I'll just have to request my money back. Thanks for your info,
Kris

Make sure that $20 shipping is next day air, you don't want to go through what I did because it wasn't... (turtle in a box for 4 days in February... he's ok though, but I think my hair started turning grey)

I was waiting for a gecko to come in the mail last winter and it ended up freezing before it got here, but its Maine, so its to be expected I guess. Its pretty mild/cool here in the summer, so I dont have too much to worry about and hes supposed to be shipping it to me from the Bronx, which is only like a day trip from here, so it only takes like 2 days for regular mail to get back and forth.

No reptile should freeze to death if it is packed and shipped properly. No reptile should be sent anything but guaranteed next day air. And, as a note, no reptile should be sent through the US postal service, it's usually illegal and their service usually.. erm... isn't that great.
