CodyNolen Mar 01, 2006 04:54 AM

Sale on right now at Big Apple Herp for their digital thermometer that also measures humidity. It is also in the reviews area. Bought two of these recently, they are very nice. One probe is for temp, the other for humidity. $25.

We also have a bunch from a greenhouse supply company I think Charley's...find them on the web. They have a dual temp probe digital with max an min 7 day recording for like $34. These have been awesome.

I just bought the dual probe model @ Big Apple this morning, it goes for $35 currently?

They have a single probe model that measures temps. with the remote probe, however, the sensor for the humidity is on the units main housing. This means you have to place the whole unit into the space where you want to measure humidity. At least that is waht Ann @ Big Apple explained to me today?

The single probe model is $25 currenty. However, if you spend at least $125 and buy on line its free with their e-coupons at the top of the homepage.

They have some really inexpensive thermometers and they have the IR thermos' too.. Good prices Bro...

Home Depot also has a decent selection.

if your gonna spend $25-35, why not just buy a thermoSTAT? its way worth it if you are serious about maintaining temps. i use ranco.

check out www.mgreptiles.com/wow.html

$49 gets you one.

Because I am anal and like to know more than the temp on the heat pad...I like to know what the cold side of the tank is really doing and the ambient air above the pad. So we use thermostats on the pads/tape/ropes, and put a probe in above the pad side and one on the cold side. But I am anal as mentioned.

I'm glad to know that others are as obsessed about temperatures as I am. My bp cage has three digital thermometers, the thermostat probe, four analog thermometers, and two or three of those strip things that I ignore anymore.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

I've bought them at Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, Home Depot. Lots of different places carry them. Walmart and Target are about the cheapest places I've seen. You can't have too many digital thermometers.

Home Depot, Radio Shack, Target, all have digital min/max thermos.

but so reptile folks like LLL Reptile and Pro Exotics. there isn't a huge price difference, and it is shipped right to your door.
