I don't have AFT's and don't pretend to know how to care for them but I have talked with Kevin from K&N who is breeding them. He says they need a more humid cage setup than Leos and they are harder to breed if that is what you want to do in the future.

That's about all I know on them.

They're so much like Leos that if you used the same methods, they'd still do well. They're supposed to come from a more humid/moist environment, so you should try to duplicate that, though. They're great pets and are coming in more and more colors and patterns nowadays. Get some, keep them, breed them, you'll be happy.

MAKE SURE THEY'RE CAPTIVE BRED!!!!!! I had 1.1 WC in Japan and only got 3 good eggs over 2 1/2 years. The two I was able to raise up turned into screamers, but it was pretty stressful as you could imagine.

Here are some pics of some of mine:

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. I ask for that info for any adoptions I have; I'll put those on the bottom of my page if I have any. Hopefully I'll be able to breed for amels next year.

Leos are very calm once they're over their 'godzilla' baby stage, but I think fattails are a bit more docile. Baby fattails can also be vocal and tough. I've only came across one evil fattail and he just didn't really like my wife, for some reason. He'd lunge at her as she walked by, and go after our hands when we tried to feed/water him. But calmed down once you got him in your hand.
