so here in durango it is getting warm, i am wearing shorts that is how warm it is, for the past few days the temp in closet has gone to 66 then the other day it got to 70, what does that mean for the thayeri, i know your down in NM and i bet its warmer there than here, what have you done in the past with temps like this?

Adam,

It has been an unusually warm year, but I wouldn't change anything yet. It's only March 1st. Keep your snakes in the dark and as cool as possible for the next month to give them the best chance possible to breed successfully. I've had the same problems but chilled mine since about mid November.
I've seen it be warm all winter and then suddenly get very cold and snowy. I've seen huge amounts of snow in southern Colorado and NM well into late April. Actually March is one of the most active months for snowfall in Colorado. Stay tunned.

thanks for the info, that makes me feel better. i will just keep them dark and cold as posible and see what happens.
