White's/General tree frog Cleaning

peritwinkelle Mar 01, 2006 01:57 PM

I am going to be getting some new White's babies (CB). I would like to disinfect an aquarium that housed other White's that potentially died from "red leg"/kidney disease or some unknown cause. What is the best way to disinfect the aquarium? I also just began working at an exotic animal vet, and am interested in applying a safe disinfecting technique here.

You can use bleech solution. When you dilute it by mixing it with water, read the direction on the container. I would use bleech several times, and make sure you rinse it out well before putting the frog in the tank.

bleach/water works well.. I would also wash any decorations you have in there, and use new plants/substrate.. g'luck
