Lacerta and Anguis

gekkoda Mar 01, 2006 02:01 PM

Hi, it's been years since I've posted on kingsnake.com. I thought a good way to recommence would be to post some pictures of my latest finds.

This is a Common Green Lizard (Lacerta viridis), one of the dozens of small Lacertas in Europe. This one was found near Geneva.

This is a Slow Worm (Anguis fragilis), it's a large legless lizard found throughout Erurope. This one was found near Geneva.

And clearly that didn't work. What I did was post the HTML to post a picture; how do you post pictures?

upload your photos to the kingsnake gallery, then when you go to post a pic there is a menu at the bottom where you choose which one.

Ok, got it. The first image is of a Lacerta viridis found in Rome in the Forum. These things are common as dirt over here and just as hard to catch as cnemidophorus'. The legless lizard is an Anguis fragilis and was found near Geneva Switzerland. It was a rather unexpected fine, a cat dragged it in, literally.

Nice shots. I like photos of herps in their natural surroundings. Seeing ones from other parts of the world is especially interesting.

Cheers,
WK
