Nisa,
...I was hoping that someone with experience breeding them would come along and provide some help. As you can guess from the lack of replies to your question there are few people breeding these snakes. I am not sure whether they are difficult to breed or if perhaps few people try with them because they have been imported in such large numbers and there is not a great demand for them. They were imported in big numbers even back in the 80s and some of us remember those snakes imported then as being difficult to get acclimated. I had friends who had them but they never seemed to be able to get a pair of them big and healthy at the same time so they could breed them. It seems that the ones coming in now are in better shape. I think they probably need some slight cooling during the winter to get them ready to breed. Most of them that I see imported are less than 4 feet long and they do get big so I would suspect that females need to be larger than that to produce good litters.
Good luck,
Jeff

Yeah there seems to not be much on these guys. Which I replied to your post on Boas before I read this one. I figure at this point I'll be winging it and see what happens. The female is probably 6 or 7 foot and has had babies before. The male however is much smaller and slender. I do know that these two eat like champs.
I had heard somewhere that importing these guys was now hevily restricted? And that they were getting rare to obtain? Did I find a site that had bad info on that?
As far as breeding, we'll wait and see what we see
I like a challenge.
Thanks
Nisa

Nisa,
...It may be that they are not being imported in big numbers like in the past. I have not kept tabs on what the importers are selling recently. There are two books which may be of interest to you. One is "The Living Boas" by Jerry Wals. This book covers all the boas and does have a little info about haitian Boas. The other book is "The Natural History of West Indian Boas" by Tolson and Henderson. This book has loads of information of all the Boas from the islands. It does have a chapter about breeding. That care sheet that was linked from the Boa Forum looks okay. Feeding lizards to baby Haitian Boas may be a problem unless you live in Florida and can get Anoles year round.
Good luck,
Jeff
