Crickets

DeanBright Mar 01, 2006 09:05 PM

Hi,
Does any one have any tips/advice on raising crickets? I did it successfully for the winter while the lizards were in hibernation, I hatched out hundreds of babies each week. But have had some more recent troubles. I think I may have figured out my problem, I think I need to inqubate the eggs for longer. The eggs of the last ten crickets did well, but those ten crickets went fast and the babies didn't grow fast enough. So I had to buy more.

Thanks,
Morgan

a bigger scale. But it's still the same, have to get it to the point you have some of all ages growing, as your current feeders are being fed off or depleted, you should by then have a batch old enough and big enough, to become your new feeders. And behind that batch should be some a couple weeks younger, so on. Otherwise you have GAPS, where you run out and have NO crickets.

And always should have some adults set aside continuing to lay eggs. Crickets only live about 6 weeks or so.

Here is a good breeding site
