Box-o-Borneo Breit Pics

Matt J Mar 02, 2006 04:57 PM

GREAT pics from everyone lately (Kevin, Ash, BoaChick, Ryan, Kujo, Matt Hennek, etc...) So, with pics in mind here are two I took today. The second made for a neat contrast between them in my opinion. I was only able to get four in the box within reason. One 'normal' looking sibling and three Ultra's. I do plan to get a pic soon of all 8 Ultras together with a sibling. I really cannot believe how neat looking they are in person! The pics are decent representations, but wash the color just a little bit. They are all now eating thawed weanling rats, so a BIG growth spurt is underway. Hope everyone has a good season and produce TONS of killer babies! My big Borneo female is in the onset of ovulation, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My wife thinks I'll get a BIG clutch of all 'normals' this season just to make up for the INSANE clutch in 2005! That would be just my luck... Anyway, it's interesting that she ovulated this time last year and the year before (within about 14 days?!). She's really 'tuned in' for this time of year I guess.

Keep the pics coming people! Great stuff... (how about some Borneo breeding pics, Jordan?!?!)

Very nice. Did you know you had the genetics to create this or were the parents "normal" and out popped the ultra babies?

Hey Rich,

>>Very nice.

Thank you!

>> Did you know you had the genetics to create this

I had NO idea the adults would ever produce these babies.

>> or were the parents "normal" and out popped the ultra babies?

Well, 'normal' is a relative term... Why? I've seen a TON of 'normal' babies over the years (living in Florida and seeing imported CH babies at wholesale places and expos, etc...). The adults that I acquired years ago just blew me away when I received them. I considered them to be 'normal' (for lack of a better term). I honestly never considered them 'morph special' (ie: produce Ultras), but knew I had a KILLER pair of snakes that would produce amazing babies should they breed. The thing that I noticed right from the start was that the female was just plain lighter than most I've seen and a bit different than other Borneo's, but nothing completely off the wall. But, there are a couple things about her that just 'set' her off from others...

I really think it will be interesting to see if I can produce more this season. I hope so!

Killer pics Matt. I love the variability in color and pattern. You just can't go wrong with a Box-o-? pic! All we need now is someone with a nice black blood collection to do a box-o-curtus!

Yeah, they are pretty amazing really. I can't wait until they are mature adults.

Sounds like a job for Angel!

The babies I got this summer are eating MEDIUM RATS now, you need to send those to me immediately to get those up to size!! Lol just kidding man! er no really.. I'll take em

This was the first copulation I had this year and I think the only one I bothered taking a pic of.... I'm thinking I have a 2.4 group of the nicer ones instead of three pairs.. cause one of the males was definately catching from another male.. Anyways, can't wait to see what pops out of yours this year, hopefully you get an even bigger clutch of those guys!

And yes I think we need a box o blacks pic from Angel! He takes some cool pics.

Keep your ultra pics comin Matt! I would love to see those guys grow, most people that have them aren't letting anyone see them!

LMAO! Yeah yeah yeah... I'm a 'slow' grower. I like to take my time with all the snakes I work with and let them grow, but not at insane-o rates. Hahahaha... wait until you see them in Daytona this year. They will likely be close to the medium rat size you want!

>>This was the first copulation I had this year and I think the only one I bothered taking a pic of....

If those snakes take... something REAL nice is going to hatch. I'm certain of it!

Great to hear!

Thanks, Jordan! Hopefully you will also have some major success with yours. Some of the animals you sent pics of are simply incredible, so I have a feeling there will be a little local competition here in the South for the nicest "Borneo of the Year Awards!" Hahahaha...

Will do. I'm SO stoked on them that I simply could not 'keep a hat' on them for years! Hopefully the future is breit for all of us working with the 'Blood' complex of snakes. I hope it's Ultra Breit! Sorry, I could not help that! Hahahaha...

Later man-

Matt
