The only thing that I have had happen like that to me was from a newly purchased male that I got about 3 months ago that looked as though he had had a few bad sheds. The results of these sheds had built up on the last few mm of his tail. I was putting neosporin on it every other day or so until he shed again (his first time under my care). When this happened, it pretty much just pulled off the crap that had been building up and the very last mm of the very tip of his tail was down to the flesh. There was no blood, and it has healed up just fine. (needles to say, I wasn't happy about the company that I purchased the snake from... wont say their name b/c I dont know how the mods feel about that. But right after I purchased from them, they disappeared from the classifieds, and have just now shown up again in the last few weeks... I strongly advise people to check with the BOI before making an online purchase... )
Thats the only thing that I can think of might have happened, maybe built up scales from past sheds? Or something that was stuck under the scales that came off after the shed?
Maybe someone else can give some inpute, Im just a noob...
Good luck, and remember, neosporin can be your best friend in times like this.
