last time I saw them like 15 years ago..$30 each or more? I think I remember.....and they grow to 15 ? pounds and are better kept for breeders or pets and not feeders........
saw Nile rats once..looked almost like regular rats except for the cost.......like 3 x or more pricetag
.......try Djungarian hamsters (like russian but do NOT bite) or Chinese hamsters.......both do not smell and breed alot better than gerbils.......
of the wild females left here.....7.......1 eats chinese and 3 eat gerbil and 3 eat mice....so it's pretty even....
I would say get smaller females if wild.like 600 grams..they will take mice and eat better and grow faster than ones you get already at 1100 grams....they actually shrank to 900 grams I bet.....some only ate like 8 gerbils all year...can't grow like that......
.....captive born and bred in the USA...preferably in Pa is better stuff..........LOL
