Striped Sinaloans

Origin_Reptiles Mar 02, 2006 07:13 PM

Anybody on here breeding the Striped Phase Sinaloans??? I have 2 pairs of these, 04 and 05, from Applegate and another unrelated bloodline. These are beautiful and since I am new here, was wondering if anybody was also getting into these. Thanks!! Scott

Hello Scott,
I am working with a several different groups of these animals myself, including the Applegate splotched, splotched with various amounts of pied on their faces and tails, splotched het albinos and double hets (splotched X albino). They are truly amazing looking animals and quite variable from individual to individual.

Hi Nathan, your snakes look identical to my non-applegate splotched-striped Sinaloans, VERY cool snakes. Have you bred any yet? I will be breeding mine in 07. Scott

Nathan Wells Mar 03, 2006 09:41 AM

Good morning Scott,
I am now producing all of those I listed above in limited numbers. However, I am concentrating more on the production of splotched het albinos (pictured above in the last post), double hets and splotched albinos. This year will be a good one and hopefully full of surprises.

Nathan,
Thanks for the replies to my thread, and the great pictures. You are obviously a bit ahead of me on the Striped Sinaloans. Have you done any Hybrids of anything? I am seeing some great looking snakes out there, and I am thinking of trying a couple things this spring.

Thanks, Scott

Nathan Wells Mar 03, 2006 01:59 PM

Hey Scott,
Sorry, no hybrids here. Although, I'll have to admit that some of those hybrids out there are pretty spectacular, I am loyal to the 15 or so subspecies of milks I currently work with. Other than concentrating on specific mutations within a few given subspecies, I am also a locality nut, maintaining a collection of several wild-type triangulum.

Nathan, that is a SPECTACULAR looking snake...Nelsons? I agree that keeping the purity is optimal, and certainly wouldnt be dedicating my breeding to that end. I also agree that the Hybrids have produced some insane looking snakes, especially the King x Milk hybrids I have seen here and on Fauna. Please feel free to share any other pictures you want, I am sure that I am not the only one inspired by your successes!! Scott

I have a 1.1 and 0.2 hets right now. They are something to look at; whenever someone visits my collection they all say the same thing when they see them . . . “whooooa; what are thoughs”.
