feeding waxworms

davekruk Mar 02, 2006 08:14 PM

I have two baby red eyed tree frogs that are about 1 1/2 inches. I would like to try feeding them some waxworms. They are currently eating 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch crickets. Is it ok if i feed them waxworms that are bigger than the width of their heads? since they are worms and not crickets?

No, you should not feed them food that is bigger than their head, you risk choking the frogs. Their heads are small, their stomachs are equally small. If you really want to try worms, try the tiny mealworms, or cut the worms in small pieces and wiggles them in front of your frogs faces or something.
