Flukers...

lil_frogger2 Jul 27, 2003 07:23 PM

While there might be some bad articles, there are many good articles. People make mistakes. They are human. They have learned. They have been coming out with quality items that i have used and with great results. I think before anyone should start insulting them, they should think first. They may not have a good reputation with live animals, but live animals are not products. They have great products. I started using them for my crickets and they have lasted longer than when on other brands. If anyone here reads something about a bad company, check your sources before following others. Look at both sides because it happens way too much. Just stop and THINK

you are basiclay right but....

I think what has some folks soo "bent" is the impressions they got that:

a) they did not want to be accountable for the problems
b) they did not / do not want to talk about it.
c) that they have tried to hide the facts
d) that they appear to have created company names and internet domains with the express prupose of hiding the ownership of businesses and internet sites they own or have controll of.

if I were presented with this pattern of activity I would hold them as less than above board and would hesitate to give them my money. untill and unless they "fess up" I would belive that they will continue to do simmilar things in the future.

IMHO.

I agree and i know where yur getting at. But they act like the whole comapny is horrible. I mean their store products are wonderful, and if you order feeders online, they are very honest. So i think when you complain abouit a company to people, you need to say both sides. Because there are people on here who will believe that all flukers are bad and will miss out on some great products.

I'm guessing not.
What they've done in the past is not forgivable.

This is an empty argument.

maybe to you. But one weakness does not account the rest of their products. They are human like i said. Reptiles are new in captivity and little is actually known. And when your posting stop for a minute and think that maybe there is more to it than live animals.

"Fluker Farms has spent in excess of $100,000 and 15 years to develop a genetically superior cricket. By sponsoring a grant through Louisiana State University in which the 10% heaviest crickets were selected at maturity to breed, Dr. Joseph Woodring and David Fluker set out to make a superior cricket. After repeating this process over and over again they had developed a stronger, healthier strand of crickets. What does this mean to the consumer? It translates into healthier crickets with a longer life span that in turn provides the customer with less DOA’s." They are not all bad.

They should keep to crickets then. Cause all they do to animals is kill them. All that money going into a damn cricket as thier reptiles drop by the hundreds. Yes, they are human a poor excuse if you ask me. Why are we even talking about this guy. He's done. This is old, and most people really know who the good, honest, trust worthy people are. Not the people who are in it to make a buck and could care less about the animals they produce.

Did you just get into reptiles???? this company has a history of this kind of stuff that goes back to the early 90's..... one weakness..... interesting that you sum up the babies that died in my hands and all the other owners dragons we tried to help save and STILL see die off to this day, from... one weakness..... what they did to iguana was unforgiveable, then follow it up with this fiascal last year......i am speachless!

Here, let me send you some chemically decomposing gutload with "calcium" for your crickets to feed your beardies made by them, we have it here watching it turn varous shades, I think last I looked its white now with green stuff. Or maybe the new gel food that dries out and sticks on the crickets and ingested by the beardies expand when it hits their digestive tract and kill them.....

ONE WEAKNESS!

There is so much you do not know about this company.... including their products and current! Of course it is a free country and if you choose to give your money to support their actions, thats your choice. We will all still be here when you need assistance.

It's not enough to send sick animals all over, they have to try to harm healthy ones with their products. If they've tested them, they don't care who or what they harm. If they haven't tested them, they don't care who or what they harm. Either way, same scenerio. As long as the money is flowing in, they don't seem to care.

I wasn't aware of the two products you mentioned doing what they do, Cheri. Thanks for the heads up. Not that I would buy them anyway, but I can surely make suggestions of "what not to buy" to new owners.

THe one of the gel turning colors is something we are seeing ourselves, I had some pre-Reptile Republic that we had mass cricekt die-offs on (we know many people did) thats with the calcium. Althought it has always been keep in a/c in dark spot, it first was bright yellow, then turned a tan color, then white, now it has slight greenish tinges to it..... this is a sealed bottle of it and one that was opened. I keep meaning to take it to the lab and have them look at it, just never get around to it.

The other cricket food that dried and was on cricket which was ingested by the bearded dragon, was from the pogona list on Yahoo, when the animal died and was necopsied it was full of the stuff.... it reexpanded in her digestive tract. JUst to clarify I did not see this or have it happened, but I can see very easily it would

mattman Jul 27, 2003 08:33 PM

I wouldn't throw a nickle thier way, never not for anything. Why fund a business like that? What they did to people by shipping those poor sick parasite infested dragons as prizes is a crime. Why on earth would somone give a live animal as a prize, a sick one at that that. it's just going to put a needie animal in the hands of people that are inexperianced at caring for them, and would not of had one if it costed them money. This was not the first thing they did like this. They have a track record going way, way back.

I will in no way support a company that I consider cruel to animals, does not care about the health of their animals and lies about the animals health so they can go on to infect peoples pets...all the while giving them away as prizes to people that may or may not have a clue how to take care of them or the means to buy a set up for them. Disposable beardies.
Totally irresponsible, it was no mistake.
No way are they getting my money.

Just stop and THINK

Try this one, when a company has continously showed they care nothing for owners, their animals and duck the problems they create....... you trust your animals life to them?

CheriS Jul 28, 2003 11:18 AM

results of their repeat past actions?

Have you even read about their actions to people pleading for information and help from them?

Sorry, I am tryly lost at this point of view

Kept a few containers from food I had purchased. Works great at storing more chicken food. Sell you chicken food for $2/lb. Nice.
