HELP, MOLD!!

ZooHerp Jul 27, 2003 07:28 PM

My Fire Salamanders enclousure is full of grey and white mold. I keep him in the basement because it is cool, but the mixture of a moist glass aquarium and damp cool air in the basement has caused a lot of mold in his terarrium. I dont know what to do if I clean the tank it will only come back after the first cage misting. The salamander seems to be doing fine he is eating well and moves well, although he dosnt seem to move until I come around his cage. If anyone has any answers to this mold problem we would both be grateful (the salamander and I).
Thanks, Cody

Lighting and ventilation would help. First off change the substrate then add a florescent light for 6-8 hrs a day. For ventilation you could hook up a small computer fan, but make sure that you keep an eye on the humidity as this is going make things dryer.
