safo Mar 03, 2006 12:55 AM

My almost 4 mo baby bb amibilobe is quite fiesty when it come to getting him out, more so than any of my other chams. He does occasionally take worms from myhand(silk/butter). I wanna just grab him but does the puff/hiss/run bit, very quick/loud/fast dont want to break his lil bones.Im going to try to do more hand feeding, but have limited time right now with him.Any tips other than the stick thing, dont want him to jump off.

I have thick sticks that I use to get my chams out. I use reptariums so I unzip both sides and insert one hand into side and place the stick outside the other end. My chameleon will be startled by my hand and attempt to flee. He/she will grab the stick and you can pull it out and voila! you cham is removed from you cage without injuring, or stressing your chameleon.

Wow, some people really do have grumpy chameleons! I havent had a problem yet. But then again I am a likable person. I have been told to wear lighter colours- not sure how much it helps.

yeah he is more testy than any of my other chams, maybe the fact that his mom was wc may have soemthing to do with it. dontknwo, hope he come around, becuase he is starting to look awesome

I have had the odd one that will chase me down the branch and try to bite my hand. If I have one like that I put a sweat shirt (long sleeved) on and tuck it over my hand and then hold the stick. If it does try to bite, it gets a mouthful of shirt...harmless to both of us.

Safo...I wouldn't count on it calming down...it might, but it might not too. IMHO it has little to do with the parent being WC...and might not have anything to do with the parent's temperament either! That nasty male produced some nice babies...and some nasty ones!
