I have a one year old red foot tortoise and its shell length is 3.5 inches long. Is this average? Should it be larger? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I just measured the two hatchlings I kept back from this past spring. They were hatched in early March and are both right at 3 1/4 inches each. They have perfect shells with NO pyrimiding at all.
Your size seems OK for a yearling but I would go more by weight and overall health. If it is feeding and otherwise vigorous and has good weight don't worry.
You are in the ballpark so don't worry.
Hi,
I also have a 1 year old. He is about that size too. How
much does your weigh? in grams?
Linda
What do your yearlings weigh? Mine is 200 grams now and
about the same size in inches. He/she was an April hatchling
last year.
I want to make sure mine is where he should be.
Thanks
Linda
