leucistic rats

xblackheart Mar 03, 2006 01:53 AM

I do not know a bunch about rats, but was wondering how you can tell the difference between leucistic black rats and leucistic texas rats. Is there a difference, are they the same snake? If they are different, how can you tell which is which and which one has a better temperment (I know each snake is different, but generally speaking)?
Its late, so excuse any gramatical or spelling errors
thanks

The red river seperates the two in Texas although I have found intergrade looking animals in Oklahoma near the red river. In lucistic the white covers the pattern so since the head shape and boady are similar you cannot tell one from the other and I would guess that would hold true in some of the other large rat snakes if you were to introduce lucistic into say grey rat.
