Working with Acrylics...

genevieve Mar 03, 2006 08:09 AM

Wondering if anyone out there can give me some acrylic pointers such as:

Where to buy those lovely clear hinges and closures?
How to make a cut out for the door, heat emitter or a vent with minimal tools?
How to get a polished edge on the pieces?
What thickness to use for a cage that would be 36H X 30W X 22 deep? And if I wanted to stack them two high would that change the thickness needed?
How long it takes for the pieces to bond?

Any other hints on working with acrylic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Genevieve

Scaled,

Thanks so much for the links!

Do you have a preference between Lexan and Plexi? Also, do you have suggestions for where I can order it from cheap(er).

Thanks so much,

Genevieve
