eating sticks?

artogator Mar 03, 2006 03:51 PM

Whats up guys,my 4 month old panther is munching on the branch that I put in his cage. I'm not really sure what it is, some type of stick like weed, I rinsed it and baked it before I put it in his cage. It dosent have leaves, he's actually tearing off splinters of wood and eating them. He gets plenty of crickets. Is this ok or should i take it out? thanks ahead for any advise you guys have.

Splinters could cause infection in the mouth and possible become imbedded in the interior gular flesh.Safest bet is to take it out and replace with some safer vines or something similar.
