Naja fasting question...

cobrafan Mar 03, 2006 08:17 PM

I have a male kaouthia who just recently reached sexual maturity and this is great except he hasn't taken any food in over 4 months. Before he reached this age he was always a great feeder. Just curious of other Naja keepers out there: what is the longest fast your male cobras have made during the breeding season, etc.? Thanks a lot,
Drew.

Mine have never gone more than a month without eating during the winter months. All of them had been eating every time and any time I introduced food, but once the dark, dreary days of winter arrived, they started to shut down a bit, as they do most seasons. But I don't think any of them have ever gone more than 4 weeks off.
